Happy Holidays

I can't believe how fast Christmas has come and gone. The new year will be here in a few days and the holidays will be over. I am actually looking forward to starting out fresh again as a new year always brings new things. Look what this year brought us, our precious Gracie! Christmas was very busy and exciting this year with a 14 month old running around. On Christmas eve, we had Jerry's family over and Christmas day, mine. I baked up a storm of cookies on Christmas eve and made an italian dinner for Christmas day.

Gracie doesn't really understand the concept of Christmas and Santa so I would say it was more fun for us to buy things for her and wrap them up. She wasn't really into the presents but loved the ribbon. She has this cute little habit of wearing them like a scarf! The poor thing was a trooper despite the fact that she has been teething and cut two teeth within days of each other this past week. She did get worn out and when present time came, fell asleep in my lap. I did wake her up in time for her presents though and she got a lot of nice things, including a huge wagon from grandma and not one but two rocking toys! Happy New Year from our family to yours. May it be a peaceful and healthy one.

P.S. In case you didn't already know, you can click on the picture to make it bigger.

This was taken the week before at our friend's Christmas party. I found a Winnie the Pooh Christmas outfit that I couldn't pass up of course!

Christmas Eve

Helping mommy open a present

One of the two rocking toys she received. Gracie wasn't to thrilled about it so her cousin Kevin had to show her how to ride it. I think he enjoyed it more than Gracie!

Finally on the elephant!

She really enjoyed playing with Kevin and especially liked the toys he got.

Christmas morning. Yes I gave her goldfish crackers, one of her favorites. I know, bad mommy but hey it was Christmas.

Grandma and Gracie

Gracie had a blast playing with her two uncles. They kept her entertained while mommy cooked dinner.

Gracie's beautiful Christmas dress.

Gracie was not too fond of the ears as you can tell from the picture. I had to quickly snap this picture before she took them off.

Poor Gracie did not want to smile here

Her second rocking toy which she seemed to like. I think because it's so big and has fur like Wrigley.

Jerry is thrilled about one of his presents

Apparently dad is thrilled about his present too!

Too tired for presents

Opening her first gift

Here she is wearing the ribbon like a scarf

Santa is Coming to Town

A few weeks ago, we took Gracie to see Santa. We waited our turn in line and put Gracie on his lap. She didn't cry at all but got really quiet like she does in new situations. Her picture turned out cute and she got to go on the carousel afterwords which she loved. Everytime we went by Daddy, she would have at him and give a huge grin. P.S.~Gracie was not feeling well today and threw up on Mommy two times. Not just spit up but projectile vomit. I am officially a mommy now! :)

Excited to see Santa

I've been tagged

My friend Ginger has tagged me which means I need to give 8 random facts about myself. I will try to make it as interesting as possible but I am quite the boring person!

1. I have lived in the same city my whole life and never anyplace else. I was even born here.

2. When I was little, I was deathly afraid of any doctor to the point that the optometrist thought I was a special needs child.

3. I got braces when I was 24 years old.

4. Gracie has the same pediatrician that I did when I was little.

5. I love candy so much that when I was little, I would sneak money from my dad's change jar and ride my bike to the liquor store at the corner so I could buy candy.

6. I don't really like comedies movie or tv show wise.

7. In elementary school, I tried out for choir and was so sad when I didn't make it that my mom went to the school and spoke to the principal and after that, everyone was allowed to be in choir.

8. I was an animal rights activist in high school and was in the newspaper and on tv.

Some Bunny Loves Me!

It was actually cold and rainy here in SoCal so I got to break out one of Gracie's new hats. I am always on the lookout for hats that are cute on her and will embarass her one day when she's older and looks back at the pictures! I can picture her rolling her eyes and saying geez mom did you have to dress me in that?! Anyway, I snapped these shots today before she tore the hat off.

Very Thankful

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Right now, I am very thankful and feeling very blessed for all that I have. I recently had a very scary health problem that really put things into perspective and has made the small stuff in life seem in fact, small. I hadn't been feeling well for over two months now. It started off with acid reflux which I NEVER get. Went to doctor, got medication, thought it was the end. Six weeks later, acid reflux feels good, but everyday for two weeks, I was having chills, fever, sweats, dizziness or body aches. Not in that order and not all at the same time but everyday. Also felt very weak and had no energy. I had my bloodwork done for routine physical and my white blood count came back high, along with very high liver function. I was told it could be reaction from acid reflux medication, hep, viral infection, or something else. This happened two days before Thanksgiving.

I was really, really scared that something was extremely wrong with my liver even though my flu-like symptoms went away finally. I went yesterday and had my ultrasound and the tech said everything looked great! What a relief. I also had more bloodwork done yesterday and the Dr. said my white cells are normal and liver count is going back to normal. I am feeling so happy and very blessed and relieved. I realized how short life is and am going to live every moment to it's fullest. I am no longer putting off things I have always wanted to do. This has been a life changing experience for me and I would not wish it upon anyone. The Dr. thinks that I had an acute viral infection. He wants me to do bloodwork in a month just to make sure everything has completely gone back to normal. I don't know about you, but I am going to relax, be happy, and enjoy each and every wonderful day with my family that I love so very much.

In all of the chaos, I did manage to take a few pictures from Thanksgiving.

Gracie has been getting into everything lately and she is not even walking yet! I can't take my eye off of her for a second or bam, she's into something. She loves remote controls and tries to take them any chance she can. She also likes to try and knock our drinking glasses onto the floor. The other day, she crawled over to the dry dog food and before I knew it, had a piece in her mouth that she was sucking on just like a piece of candy. Below in the pictures, is one of her favorite things to do. She crawls into the reading room and crash bam, pulls down all of the books. She also likes to pretend to read them. At least she has good taste and reads the trashy romance novels!

I love books

Oops, caught again but I think I'll throw this last one on the floor

I'm innocent, I swear I am

Come on mama, how can you resist this cute little face?

Okay, I guess you can pick me up since I was caught

Gracie had to have two candies in her hands

I wonder which one I should pick?

Hey mama, is there anything good in there?

This one looks good

Gracie didn't want to pose for the picture because she was too busy checking out Tigger

Lots of loot for mama, I mean for me to eat

Wrigley wants some candy too

Do I really have to choose??

You mean I have to unwrap it first?

Almost out

One pooped pumpkin!

Happy Halloween

My little pumpkin and spidey

I can't believe that Halloween is almost over, it feels like it just begun. Gracie looked so cute in her costume and she got to go trick or treating three times (this worked out great because I was trying to get the extra mileage out of the costume)! She loved the candy and would look in her bucket everytime someone dropped a candy in it. She also liked to pick her own piece of candy and most of the time would go for the chocolate, just like her mommy. She had to carry around a piece of candy to at ALL times and when Jerry tried to trade it out for a safer one, just in case she put it in her mouth, she stubbornly pulled her hand away from him and refused to let go! She also had a blast shaking the Nerds as though they were rattles. At first, I felt guilty taking candy, knowing that Jerry and I were going to be the ones eating it but when we brought the bucket home, and I got a whiff of all the flavors, I giggled liked a school girl and forgot all about the guilt. I am so exhausted so here is one picture of my lil pumpkin and I will post more tomorrow. Happy haunting!

Pumpkin Patch

We took Gracie to her very first pumpkin patch
She wasn't quite sure what to do
Help me please, what are all these round orange things??

She liked mama's lap a lot better

Please don't tell me you expect me to go down there

Oh brother, more of those funny looking things

Daddy tried to show her the pumpkins were okay but Gracie didn't want anything to do with them. Oh well, maybe next year!!
