No, I am not talking about Gracie and no, I am not pregnant! I am talking about Gracie's baby. Recently, Gracie decided that she liked baby dolls. A few months ago, she would push them away when I tried to give one to her and she didn't want to have anything to do with a doll. All of a sudden, she decided they were okay and started liking to feed her doll and putting lotion on it. She also points at every child we see, 3 and under and shouts baby!! The other moms get a chuckle out of it, because sometimes, Gracie is younger than the child she is pointing at.

I recently decided to buy Gracie one of those cheap little strollers so she could push her doll in it. We gave it to her tonight and she loved it! She went around and around the backyard, pushing her baby. When we told her it was time to come in, she started crying and saying no, no. We brought her in for bathtime, and Jerry took her doll. Poor Gracie cried and said my baby so of course, we had to give her the baby back. Gracie would not let go of her doll and when Jerry brought Gracie to me, she had the doll tucked tightly in her arms and was patting it, like she was comforting her baby. She finally gave the doll up, when it was bottle time. Gracie is now sleeping soundly without her baby but we will see what happens tomorrow morning.

Out for a nice stroll

Checking to make sure her baby is secure

Time to give baby a kiss. One of several might I add

Baby looks like she's doing good

Taking the time to say cheese and pose for the camera

Just ho humming along

We just had a 5.8 magnitude earthquake here in SoCal, centered about 25 miles from where we live. We are okay and everything is fine, just a little shaken up, no pun intended. This is Gracie's first earthquake experience and hopefully her last but I doubt it as I have been through several, growing up here. My mother-in-law and I were actually outside in her driveway and I was holding Gracie when I felt a strong jolt. At first, I thought it was a strong gust of wind but then realized what it was, as the ground kept moving. My trailer which is quite large and parked in my mother-in-law's driveway, was shaking quite a bit and my car which was parked in the street and is rather big, an SUV GMC Yukon, was rolling back and forth for a few minutes.

I almost dropped Gracie as it was hard to hold onto her. I could hear June's neighbor saying whoa through the open window and all of our neighbors started coming out of their houses. Gracie did get a little scared, probably because I happened to say Oh sh** when the quake happened which I don't remember saying but June said I did. Anyway, I am just glad we weren't inside our house as I think we would have felt it a lot more. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that we are all okay and no damage at our house.

The Fair Part 2

So you're probably wondering what happened to part 1. Well, I haven't quite posted those pictures yet but I will. This video is part 2 of the fair, because when Jerry, Gracie, my friend Karen, her husband Bob and daughter Kailee went to the fair on opening day, it was really hot and crowded because it was free parking and admission. So Karen and I decided to go back sans the guys. It was much nicer and the lines weren't quite as long. We had to go on the pony ride again since the girls loved it so much the first time around which is what the video is of. Gracie had a huge smile on her face the whole time as she went around and around. Jerry wants to go again friday (my 3rd time) so being the good wife that I am, I have obliged even though I don't really care to see anymore fried food or pig poop!

I also have revamped my blog as I'm sure you have noticed. I got tired of the old look and have now decided to do themes since I love them so much. :) This new look is my summer theme and I couldn't resist the strawberry paper as Gracie loves strawberries. I'm still learning but I hope to someday get my blog to look as good as those that get paid to redo blogs.

Catching Up

Once again, I seem to have fallen behind in my blogging. I have lots of pictures that I have taken over the last couple of months, and haven't posted them which means that I am going to try to play catch up because I have some really cute pictures of Gracie. Of course, I could always stop taking so many pictures but what fun would there be in that?! :) Below, are pictures that I took in the beginning of June. It was a hot day and Gracie, Jerry, and I were out in the front yard playing around. I especially love the pictures of Gracie by the tree as she loves to go and look at the leaves. You'll also notice our grass in the pictures which Jerry is very proud of. He mows it at least once a week, sometimes twice. He claims he doesn't like to mow, but I secretly think it relaxes him. Sometimes, he even puts golf balls on the lawn, to make it look like a golf course!!!

Gracie is fascinated with my hair and loves to play with it which she is doing in this picture

Happy Anniversary

Today is our seventh wedding anniversary. Jerry and I met 14.5 years ago, when we both worked for the same city. I can't believe it's been that long, as time seems to have flown by. I was looking back at our wedding pictures and it brought back such great memories. My mom who is no longer alive, looked so very happy in all of the pictures. I have a funny story to tell to. I remember when we went to light the unity candle, and somebody (Frank or David) forgot to pull the wick up so it was super small and the candle would not light. It was this huge moment and the whole church was quiet and we kept trying to light it. Jerry being the resourceful one, finally took our whole candle that was lit and just stuck it right on top of the unity one. It was hilarious and everyone cheered and yelled!

Jerry had to work today but he did come home a little early and Gracie, Jerry, and I went out for a nice italian dinner. My brother surprised us and called the restaurant without our knowing and they brought out ice cream with a candle in it and sang a song to us. We thought each other had told the restaurant and then figured out who it was.

I love you Jerry and thank you for being the great husband that you are!!! Happy Anniversary!!!

Splash Zone

There is a park near our house that just opened called the Splash Zone. Basically, it's a bunch of different types of water fountains for kids to play in. The park was funded by a CA park grant so it's free. Since it's been pretty hot lately, my friend Karen and I decided to take our girls and check out the park. When Gracie saw it from the car, she started screaming at the top of her lungs, wa, wa (water) and was practically bouncing in her car seat! When we went inside, Gracie was a little bit intimidated at first so I had to carry her but she soon wanted me to put her down where she proceeded to run around and check out every fountain there was. Kailee, Karen's daughter, had a blast too. We finally had to take the girls away from the water because they were shivering from being cold but we are definitely going to go back soon.

PS~ I did take some video but with my small crappy camera so it's not the best quality.

Happy 4th of July

This year, we actually got to celebrate the 4th with Gracie. Last year, we came home on the 30th of June and Gracie was adjusting to the time change and was up from 12am-5am so it was very hard to do anything really exciting. Now that Gracie is a year older, it was so fun to celebrate. We went over to Uncle Pete's and Aunt Debbie's house for a swim party, bbq, and to celebrate Jerry's and Uncle Frank's birthdays. The weather was super nice and Gracie loved the pool. She was trying to swim already and did a great job kicking her feet. She even liked it when I dunked her under the water and was copying me by trying to keep her mouth closed when she went under the water. Gracie also loved it when Aunt Debbie helped her float on her back and when Uncle Pete and daddy through her way up high in the air. I think we definitely have a little swimmer on our hands which is great because I am a Pisces and I have always loved the water.

Later that night, Jerry and I met some friends at our local city hall to watch fireworks. Gracie wasn't too sure about the fireworks and got really quiet when they were going off. She made sure that my arms were wrapped tightly around her little body as she snuggled on my lap. She actually almost fell asleep at one point because she wasn't able to nap very long this afternoon. Anyway, I am exhausted and off to get some well needed rest. I hope everyone had as fun as a time as we did and I can't wait until next year.

All set for the sun

Yay, we finally got to use Gracie's boat

Not sure what Jerry's doing but he looks ready to party!
