We just had a 5.8 magnitude earthquake here in SoCal, centered about 25 miles from where we live. We are okay and everything is fine, just a little shaken up, no pun intended. This is Gracie's first earthquake experience and hopefully her last but I doubt it as I have been through several, growing up here. My mother-in-law and I were actually outside in her driveway and I was holding Gracie when I felt a strong jolt. At first, I thought it was a strong gust of wind but then realized what it was, as the ground kept moving. My trailer which is quite large and parked in my mother-in-law's driveway, was shaking quite a bit and my car which was parked in the street and is rather big, an SUV GMC Yukon, was rolling back and forth for a few minutes.

I almost dropped Gracie as it was hard to hold onto her. I could hear June's neighbor saying whoa through the open window and all of our neighbors started coming out of their houses. Gracie did get a little scared, probably because I happened to say Oh sh** when the quake happened which I don't remember saying but June said I did. Anyway, I am just glad we weren't inside our house as I think we would have felt it a lot more. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that we are all okay and no damage at our house.

Hey Tanya...I was thinking of you after the earthquake. No phones were working, or I would have called. Kailee was at preschool and I had just walked upstairs to close the blinds in her room. I heard a rumble, then the movement. I said "Oh Sh*t" too! Good thing Kailee wasn't here! Her school called, but the call didn't come through, just a voicemail. They said everything was fine and it didn't faze most of the kids. Only "damage" is croocked pictures.

I'm glad that you are all OK. We don't have those here if you would consider moving!

So thankful that you are all okay! We don't have those here either and I can only imagine how frightening it must be.

I second that. I'm so glad everyone is OK! I hadn't heard about it yet!
