Merry Christmas

We had a good Christmas this year. In the morning, we let Gracie open some of her presents from us. Her big present from Santa was a kitchen which she loved. My friend has a play kitchen at her house and every time we go over there, Gracie loves to play with it so I knew that would be her big present this year. Gracie loved opening all of her presents. In the afternoon, we went over to Grandpa's house to eat dinner and open more gifts. Gracie hadn't had a nap all day and was super tired and once again, she fell asleep in the middle of opening presents. That's okay though because we took a break and resumed after she woke up. Grandma bought her an Elmo Live which is absolutely fantastic. I think the adults enjoyed it more than Gracie did!

Anyway, I hate to say this but I am glad that Christmas is over and am looking forward to the new year. I hope everyone had a joyful and happy Christmas.

Christmas Eve

Wow, I have not had a minute to breathe, let alone post anything for a while so sorry about the lag. I do have some pictures that I need to get caught up on. I can't believe that tomorrow is Christmas and I am actually somewhat ready. I stayed up until 2am last night wrapping presents and then finished the rest today during Gracie's really long nap (3 hours and counting). Poor Gracie has been fighting something and I think that is why she is napping for so long. That and the fact that we have been going non-stop.

Sunday night, we celebrated Christmas with Jerry's family. Normally, we celebrate on Christmas Eve but Jerry and I wanted to try a new tradition so we are going to go out to dinner tonight and then go to the candlelight service at our church. We had a lot of fun with Gracie's family and Gracie loves her cousins and they get along really well. We even had some snow here in SoCal!

My mind is currently running at 100 miles per hour so sorry about the babbling. I can't wait for tomorrow when I can watch Gracie open all her presents and see the excitement on her little face. Wishing you all a great Christmas Eve.

Sorry if there are any typos. I didn't have time to proof read. I even thought I lost my brother's present and had sent Jerry out to get another one when I realized this morning that I had wrapped it and it was sitting under the tree, duh. :)

I love this picture of Gracie

I asked Gracie to stand in front of the tree for a picture so she decided to plop down on a present.

Gingerbread House

It's been raining here all day so I thought now would be the perfect time for us to create our gingerbread house. I've always wanted to make one but never had the chance so I figured it would be fun building one with Gracie for the first time. Gracie had a really good time decorating the house but she especially loved the frosting and the candy. Personally, the gumballs were my favorite. I tried to follow the directions diligently and even though I did, I got confused and built the house wrong in the beginning but figured it out and got it right at the end. Thank goodness I am not a structural engineer as I accidently cracked part of the house. That's okay though because we live in CA where earthquakes occur, so it's our gingerbread house that was built on a seismic fault line!

Jerry came home and I turned over the decorating duties to him. He got a little zealous with the icing and put the door on the wrong side but he eventually fixed it. He was even able to hide my crack by covering it with tons of the glue, I mean frosting. Oh, I am also getting the Christmas spirit back as I have finished all my shopping. Next stop, Christmas cookies!

Hmmm, wonder where this should go

A little bit of spreading, a little bit of eating

There's my crack (okay, that sounds gross)!

Doesn't Jerry look jolly?

Christmas Spirit

Every year, Jerry and I go to Disneyland when it's decorated for the holidays to get us in the Christmas mood. This year, for some reason, I have been having a rough time getting into the "spirit" of Christmas. It's already the 15th of December, my cards aren't started and I haven't completed my shopping. I don't know why I can't get into the holiday this year. Maybe it's because it seems like things are rushing up on me and I have tons to do or I miss my mom, I just can't pinpoint it.

On Thursday, I took Gracie to Disneyland and met S. and her daughter O. there. S. is from my mom's group. We had a lot of fun and Gracie even got to meet Tinkerbell and the other fairies. Gracie doesn't know who they are, so I called them butterflies so she would understand and so Gracie called them that too. Gracie danced with Tinkerbell and it was very cute but I forget to get it on video. Friday evening, I dragged, took Jerry to Disneyland again. It was very packed, more so than I have ever seen it. We did get to go on a few rides in Fantasyland and Gracie was so cute as she can name the rides now. She saw the carousel and said horsies, then after that, she said to Jerry and I, Dumbo please. How could we resist! The night ended with the Pooh ride and by that time, we had had enough of the crowds so we went home. Disneyland did bring me some holiday joy and hopefully as Christmas creeps closer, I will get into the spirit some more.

PS~ Gracie went pee pee and poo on her potty chair and was so proud of herself. My little baby is growing up.

She wasn't too thrilled with Minnie

Was a little better with Mickey

We waited in line for 40 minutes to see Tinkerbell and Gracie did so good, I was very proud of her. I think she had more fun with the worker than Tink herself!

One of the fairies, but don't ask me who. S. would kill me!
