Our Friends Are Going to China!!

My good friend Karen from my Lucky Mom's group and her daughter Becky, Gracie's BFF are leaving for China tonight to get Katie, Karen's daughter and Becky's new sister! I am so excited and can't wait to meet Katie. Jerry and I were reminiscing this afternoon with Gracie and watched her coming home video again. Gracie asked if she could go to China and I told her that when she gets older, we would go.

If you could please keep our friends in your prayers that they have a safe flight, journey, transition, and homecoming. Here is the link to Karen's blog if you are interested in following the journey to Katie, Casa de Alegria.

We had a mini-shower for Katie but my pictures turned out all blurry. Maybe if you look at them cross eyed, they will look okay. :( Hubby just told me that I had the camera on manual instead of automatic, oops.

Karen and Becky, sorry for the blur.

Those mall trains can be wild and crazy!

Fancy shoes

Uh oh, I think we're in trouble!

Christmas Day

Yes, I realize that it's already January 10th and I am only now posting Christmas photos but up until recently, I haven't felt like doing much. I've been stuck in some sort of funk which is now only beginning to lift. I'm not sure what was going on, but I suspect that the whole Brennan situation really left me down as we should have had him home for Christmas. Between that and the fact that I got sick again, didn't help much. I ended up with a sinus infection and felt horrible on both Christmas Eve and day. It was so bad that I had to stay at home on Christmas Eve,stuck on the couch, not even being able to enjoy any chocolate because I couldn't taste anything, while Jerry and Gracie went to their cousin's house.

New Year's Eve was a little better as we went to Granny Joy's house and celebrated with close friends by eating good food and playing a fun game called Apples to Apples. I've never been much of a New Year's person and even getting out of the house was an accomplishment. :) I decided this year that instead of creating resolutions which I never end up keeping, I am going to have goals. Most of my goals are house oriented, such as getting pictures put into those pesky frames and redoing the small bathroom. I also have some spiritual goals too. I just attended a new study with my sister-in-law and the man who runs it is awesome! He suggested that we pick one item that we are really struggling with spiritually and work on that one thing. Dr. Bill said it could take a year or more to really work on our item. I am truly hoping that I will be able to stick with it and complete my spiritual goal.

Well, if you've read this far and I haven't completely depressed you, kudos. Otherwise, here are the pictures that you really came here for. :)

I thought this was a funny picture because the way Wrigley's tongue is sticking out, it looks like he ate Santa's cookies!

Gracie got Princess undies in her stocking and she actually loved them!

On her new princess bike from Santa

Love the effort she is putting into opening this present

Must have been worth that effort because of the surprise look on her face

Love this shot at Grandpa's house

Helping Uncle Frank with his gift. That was her favorite thing to do this year, help everyone with their presents.

Oops, a little too much princess make up

The one present she really wanted, a magic princess mirror that is octagon shaped. Yes, That is really how Gracie described the mirror. :)
