Knott's Merry Farm

As we progress further into the Christmas Season, my mother-in-law June, brother Frank, and I decided that we would take the kids to Knott's on Monday. Normally, I am a Disneyland fantatic but Knott's has had a great deal going on with their season passes where you buy one for $60 bucks and get in for the year, with no block out dates. We decided to get some use out of these passes and check out the Christmas going ons at the park. Aside from that, Knott's also has some bad ass big roller coasters that Frank and I wanted to go on. When we got there, we circled the parking area about 3 times. I guess the higher ups decided that now would be a good time to close off a bunch of the handicap parking spots which my mother-in-law needs and also rope off the timed parking too. After we finally found a spot which required me to back up down a one way street, we were off to have some fun!

The park was blissfully empty and Frank and I were able to walk on almost every coaster. Gracie and Kyle had a ton of fun in the kiddy section, along with Grandma who is not a thrill seeker. Gracie my brave girl, who is turning out to be more and more like mommy in liking the bigger rides, went on her first "big girl" coaster. Now keep in mind, Gracie has gone on Thunder Mountain at Disneyland but those are the more mellow coasters. The coaster that Gracie went on at Knott's doesn't compare (see picture below). Frank and I weren't sure if Gracie would make it on as the height requirement was 42" and if you looked at Gracie's head just right, from down below, she was tall enough. The lady did measure Gracie when it was our turn to go on and she must have seen that strand of hair standing up too as the worker allowed Gracie on the ride.

After we all had our share of fun, we topped off the night by eating at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner restaurant which is famous in our neck of the woods. It was a great way to spend time with family and I have to say, that I am proud of myself as I didn't throw up one time after Gracie dragged me on all the spinning rides.

These figurines are really old and date back from a long time ago. There used to be more until they remodeled the park and took a bunch out.

Gracie's big roller coaster. So proud of my brave girl who LOVED the ride!

Gracie got called up to be the jingle bell ringer. She had a little bit of stage fright but looked so cute!

Having fun in Camp Snoopy!

Kyle is finally beginning to warm up to Santa

Did I mention that candy canes are one of Kyle's favorites?

One of the few pictures of me that I actually like and will post for the public to see. :)
