Referral Day!

Six years ago today, we got the phone call that changed our lives forever. Our beautiful baby girl, was referred to our family and I can't believe how lucky we are. We were so nervous before the call and when we found out we were referred a girl, were truly surprised, as we had put down on our paperwork, that we would take a boy or girl. I knew it was meant to be, when I found out that Gracie's birthday fell upon my lucky number and in my favorite month. =) When I showed Gracie her referral picture tonight, she said "Hey, I don't have any hair, I look like Daddy!". I am proud to report that today, Gracie has hair that almost touches her waist, so she is no longer hairless, lol. Daddy on the other hand, is a completely different story. ;)

Prayers are Needed

I haven't posted for a while and I hate to start back with this news but a family that we know, really needs your help.

Last week, our friend's little girl was diagnosed with a brain tumor. They did the surgery last Thursday and found out yesterday, that the tumor is malignant. Elliana, or Daisy, as she likes to be called is going to need radiation and a year of chemotherapy. Elliana is from the same orphanage as Gracie and we traveled to China with the Walsh family. I can't imagine what this family is going through right now and Elliana has a very tough road ahead of her. A fund has been set up to help the family with medical costs and other expenses. If you feel inclined to donate, please do so. This family also needs a lot of prayers so if you could spread the word and pray for the Walsh family and Elliana, that would be wonderful.  Thank you!

The Walsh Family is specifically asking for prayers regarding  Elliana's brain and spine. Due to the aggressiveness of the cancer, she is going to need chemo and radiation treatments on both her brain and spine.

I took down the link, as at this time, the Walsh family is applying for assistance and they are not sure how these donations would affect them receiving assistance. As soon as everything is figured out and they are accepting donations again, I will post the link.
