Meet Maria Our Butterfly Of The Month

Visit with Maria Do Carmo Falchi, and you will feel inspired and determined to face anything. Although She was diagnosed at five years old with Turner Syndrome, she has not let her stop from reaching for the Stars, for example, doing her PH.D.Thesis on Tuner Syndrome to change the conceptions of how we understand and perceive Turner Syndrome. She pointed out social media is creating a place for us to be able to share our stories and feel less alone. As she stated, communication is everything, and I couldn't;t agree more.

Although she stated that there are some negatives of living with Turner Syndrome, like being short, she wants others to understand that Turner Syndrome is not a death sentence. Maria states "that those with Tuner Syndrome can achieve whatever they want." You are right, Maria, and you are a shining example of that. Maria is a passionate advocate, and I can not wait to see what she will accomplish next.

Like many of us, her favorite place to visit is the Beach. She loves the smell of the Sea.
